Kindergarten Round-Up for students entering Kindergarten in August of 2021 will be held Friday, April 16, 2021. This year’s round-up will look slightly different, due to current restrictions. However, we still want to meet the students, introduce them to our classrooms, and complete a short academic screening with each child in order to prepare for next year’s classes. At this time no extra visitors/parents are allowed in the school and your child MUST wear a mask. We ask that you please bring your child to the back of the school, on the East side of the building. You may park along the street. When we are ready for the next set of students we will open our outside doors, marked 227 and 229, to welcome your child. While your child is being screened, we ask that you remain outside of the gate, (recess may be in progress). After the screening there will be a short time to meet the teachers and information will be provided for further contact/questions that may arise.
Please bring a copy of your child’s certified birth certificate. This is the copy from the health department, not the paper that the hospital gives you. (If your child is currently enrolled in our PreK program, we already have one.) We will have someone available to make copies.
A packet of information to be completed before the screening will be sent home with current eligible Pre-K students and be available for pickup by others beginning on March 18th. This packet will contain a letter to the parent(s), a physical, dental, and eye exam form and a registration sheet. Mrs. Zehnle, our school nurse, Mrs. Cromie, our district transportation coordinator, and Ms. Phelan, our principal, are available by phone if you have any questions.
Please call the elementary school office to schedule a time slot if you have a Kindergarten-age child. To be eligible to begin Kindergarten in August 2021, a child must be five (5) on or before September 1, 2021.
