Dance Team to serve meal

The Payson Dance Team will be serving Papa John's Pizza and dessert before the basketball games on Tuesday, December 18th.

*We will run Meeting schedule today for Art Club and National Honor Society.
 
*Seniors going on senior trip - there will be a quick meeting 10 minutes before lunch in the lobby.
 
*Winter sports pictures are today after school.  Please bring your uniforms.
 
*Varsity Girls Basketball plays tonight at Payson at 6:00 vs Palmyra.  Then Varsity Boys Basketball plays at 7:30 vs Palmyra.
 
*Schedule changes can be made before Christmas break for next semester.  The last day to change your schedule will be Friday, Jan. 11, 2013.
 
*School will be dismissed at 1:55 on Friday and will resume on Mon, Jan 7

*The Christmas Food War, sponsored by the National Honor Society, will run through Fri, Dec 14..  This is a competition between each class with prizes awarded to the class who brings in the highest percentage of food items per class member.  All food items and need to be non-perishable (box or can) and will be donated to the Fishes and Loaves food pantry in Payson   The most needed food items are; can tuna or fruit, peanut butter, jelly, pork & beans, mac & cheese, spaghetti and sauce, and box cereal.  Turn in your food items to your class sponsor, 7th grade to Mr. Damm and 8th grade to Mr. Clendenny.  Have fun and let the Food War begin.

*Congratulations to Elizabeth Davis, Jakob Voss, and Audrey Zanger for being named Illinois State Scholars.  Selection of the scholars is based on a combination of their ACT test scores and their class rank at the end of their junior year.

  • Applications for the 2013-2014 Children of Veterans Tuition Waiver are now available online at www.osfa.illinois.edu.  The Children of Veterans Tuition Waiver is a four-year in-state tuition waiver at the University of Illinois.  The recipient may use this waiver at any of the U of I campuses.  Specific information regarding the war/conflicts and required service dates can be found on the application.  For detailed instructions on where to find this application at the website, see Mrs. Callahan.
  • The National Lutheran Fraternity Education Foundation is offering high school males who are confirmed members of a Lutheran congregation a chance to apply for a scholarship to be used at the following universities:  U of I, Indiana University, or Purdue University.  See Mrs. Callahan for the application.
  • The National Defense Transportation Association Scott/St. Louis Chapter has posted their 2013 scholastic awards information.  The purpose of this scholarship program is to promote careers in Business, Transportation Logistics, or Physical Distribution.  The application can be obtained from Mrs. Callahan.  All applications must be postmarked no later than March 1, 2013.
