Jenna Edwards, 12, of Payson, daughter of Darin (Liberty graduate) and Janice Edwards, was diagnosed with a hemorrhaging Optic glioma (brain tumor) at the age of 4. Surgery in 2004 removed 95% of the tumor, but left damage to Jenna’s hypothalamus and pituitary gland. She also suffered a stroke during surgery. After surgery, Jenna did 14 months of chemotherapy to shrink the tumor. The last 8 years, Jenna has undergone extensive physical and occupational therapy and endocrine treatments. In June 2011, an MRI revealed the tumor was growing again. Jenna is currently undergoing chemotherapy (24 doses in 48 weeks). Jenna is in 6th grade at Payson Seymour Elementary. Jenna is an amazing, beautiful, and brave young lady; everyone that knows her, loves her dearly. To show our love and support for Miss Jenna and her family, we are going to be selling tshirts, profits to help the Edwards family with expenses.
Please attend Jenna’s Rainbow Event on April 22, 2012 at Payson High School from noon to 6PM.
