The Illinois Student Assistance Commission has announced those senior students who have been designated as Illinois State Scholars. Payson Seymour High School is proud of our seniors Aaron Edwards, Chris Ehrhardt, Lacey Hagerbaumer, Kelsie Huber, Chad Lentz, Hannah Mahon, Jessa Patrick, Catherine Richards, and Sarah White for this great accomplishment. Selection of the scholars is based on a combination of their ACT test scores and their class rank at the end of their junior year.

*JH Boys Basketball plays tonight at home vs Liberty at 6:00. The JH Dance team will be selling Papa John's pizza at the game.
*The next Payson Pride celebration is tomorrow.. To participate in the day, you need to be have zero tardies from Oct 13 until Nov 30 along with zero office referrals. Please sign up for which movie you want to watch--HS sign up is on the office window, JH sign up is on the MPR door. There is a limit of 20 people per movie.

*The weight room will be open every Monday Wednesday and Friday starting this Fri, Dec 2. It is open to all athletes.

*The Payson Music Boosters will be selling poinsettias during the Christmas season as their annual fundraiser again this year. The price is $15.00 per plant. Money from the sales will be due, Fri, Dec 2. Poinsettias may be picked up at the Winter Concert.
*On Fri, Dec 2 the Accounting class will be serving Daylight Donuts. The price will be $1.00 for a donut and $.50 for a drink. There are preorder forms in the office.
*The HS Christmas Dance will be on Sat, Dec 10 from 7-10 pm in the gym..
*The JH Christmas Dance will be on Fri, Dec 16 from 7-10 pm in the MPR.

*Hat day will be Friday with all proceeds going to the Fishes and Loaves Food Pantry. Cost is only $1 payable to Mrs. Rosenkrans in the morning prior to first hour starting.
*Community service hours are available by working at the "Kiddie Bazaar" on Sat, Dec 3 from 8:15 until 10:30 in the HS MPR. You will get to help younger students (ages 4-5th grade) shop for presents for family members. Please sign up in the office.
*The HS Library will accept canned good items for the Food Pantry in exchange for library late fees through the month of December. For every canned good brought in, students can earn $0.50 off their late fees.
*HS Book Club will meet in the library during HS lunch on Weds, Dec 14 to finish discussing "The Lightning Thief." The next book will be "Zombies vs. Unicorns". Any students or staff interested in reading with us, please stop by the library to pick up or request a copy.
