*Varsity Basketball team plays tonight in the Winchester Tournament tonight at 8:30 vs West Central.

*JH Volleyball team plays their 1st game tonight vs Schuyler-Industry at 6:00.  Bus at 4:00.

*Books are available in the library for:  Jacob Dietrich, Sarah Woodworth, Hunter Flesner, Emily Hickerson, Danielle Davis, Allison Smith, Donnie Collins

*Freshmen will take the EXPLORE test tomorrow morning in the MPR

*A Hot Chocolate and Hostess goodies social will be this Thursday and Friday during lunch. Items are just $0.50.

*Student council members--please bring in your treats for our social.  Deliver these to Mrs. Rosenkrans

*The 8th Grade Volleyball team will be playing in the Rushville tournament this Sat, Jan 15 at 10:00, 11:00 & 1:00.

*There will be no school on Mon, Jan 17 for Martin Luther King Day

*Juniors & Seniors--Adams Electric Coop is sponosoring an all-expense paid trip to Washington DC, June 11-17.  Interested students must complete a short answer application.  More information is available in the office.

*New Scholarships:  All available scholarships are listed on Mrs. Callahan’s webpage. 

  • The Best Buy Scholarship Program's applications are now available at www.at15.com.  You need solid grade plus community service or work experience.  The deadline is February 16, 2011.
  • The SCV/MOS$B is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior who is a descendant of a male who served honorably in the army, navy, judicial, es\xecuative, or civil service of the Confederate States of America.  Lineal lines must be documented genealogically with a descendency chart.  Application, essay, and other required documentation are to be submitted to the Illinois Society State Chair and postmarked prior to March 15, 2011.  See Mrs. application for futher information.
  • The Adams County Farm Bureau has a $1,000 scholarship opportunity to students not attending JWCC.  If attending JWCC, you must apply for this scholarship at the JWCC Foundation office.  All other students must meet the following criteria:  Be a member of the Adams County Farm Bureau or be a child of a member.  Not be a child or grandchild of an Adams County Farm Bureau Foundation Board member.  You must demonstrate interest in agriculture or related field.  You must also show financial need.  See Mrs. Callahan for an application.  Deadline is March 7, 2011.
  • 1st Farm Credit Services offers again their "At the Heart of a Growing America" Agricultural Scholarship Program.  You must be accepted into an agriculture or agriculture-related curriculum for next school year--college/university program.  An essay is also required.  Applications are available at www.1stfarmcredit.com or from Mrs. Callahan.  Deadline is February 15, 2011.

 

 

*Reminder that those FBLA members that signed up for the Western Area Conference at WIU on Jan 19 must submit their $5 fee to Mr. Rea as soon as possible.  Also, make sure to get a planned absence form for that day as well.

*Seniors going on senior trip need to have their trip money in by Tues, Feb 1.

*Community service hours are available by working in the concession stand during JH volleyball games.  Please come to the office for a list of games if interested.

 *Seniors—Turn in your Churchill Photography form and your Proofs to Mrs. Germann ASAP.

*Seniors—There is 1 group picture left available for purchase.  The cost is $10.  See Mrs. Germann.

*There are extra Pep Club shirts & sweatshirts with the "One Town, One Team, One Dream" saying.  Please see Kendra if you're interested.

*Lifting will be Monday, Wednesday & Friday.

*The Accounting class will be serving breakfast for you every Tuesday and Friday morning in your lobby.  They serve a variety of all your favorite breakfast foods.  It's always at a great low price for a great value.  It's one stop at the Breakfast Barrio for the only breakfast served in school.

*Homework Haven is at the Jr/Sr High from 3:05-4:05 Monday-Thursday in Mrs. Gilligan's room.
