Weekend Events

*8th Grade basketball team plays on Saturday at 1:45 vs Calhoun in the PCC Tournament at Pleasant Hill.  If they win, they play on Monday at 7:45.  If they lose, they play on Monday at 6:30.

*The Payson Seymour STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) class will be holding a hog roast Saturday from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Payson Grade School.  The price is $10/ticket and includes baked beans, chips, cole slaw, dessert & beverage.  Please see a class member or teacher for tickets--only so many are available.  Proceeds will help fund community service & classroom projects.  Please help support this inspiring class!

 

 

 *Lunch for Mon, Dec 6 is spaghetti with meat, garlic stix, 7-layer salad & fruit

*All PE classes will meet in the library today.

*The JH/HS Winter Concert will be held tonight at 7:00.  Students should dress up for the event & are encouraged to bring in baked goods on Dec 6 for the silent auction that will be held by the Music Boosters.  Please plan to attend and support our band and choir.

*Liberty-Payson girls basketball team plays tonight at home vs Brussels at 5:30.

*We will run the meeting schedule tomorrow for Spanish Club.

*Student Council members--do not forget to bring your candy canes to Mrs. Rosenkrans

*Student Council will be selling Candy Cane Grams starting Monday, Dec 6 until Dec 15th.  They are 50 cents each and will be delivered on Dec 16.

*There will be a cookie, milk and hot chocolate social on Thurs, Dec 9 & Fri, Dec 10 during JH and HS lunches.  Each items is just 50 cents.

*Student Council is sponsoring a Hallway decorating contest.  Hallways need to be done by Dec 10 at lunch time for judging.

*Student Council is sponsoring a food drive class competition.  Bring in your canned goods to your class sponsor.  The class with the highest number of canned goods will earn a treat.

*Christmas Ball for HS students will be held on Sat, Dec 11 from 7-10. Please fill out a guest pass if you're bringing someone from another school.

*Winter Dance for JH students will be held on Fri, Dec 17 from 7-10.  Please fill out a guest pass if you're bringing someone from another school.

 


  

     *The Burger King Scholars Program details and how to apply can be found at www.haveityourwayfoundation.org/burger_king_scholars_program.html.

        *The Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Rebekahs of Illinois has a scholarship program for those seniors in financial need.  The application may be found at http://www.ioof-il.org.  Deadline is March 1, 2011.

·         *The American Business Women's Association of Quincy offers scholarships to help seniors with tuition, books and/or fees.  See Mrs. Callahan for an application and guidelines.

*Sophomore class dues of $25 are due Dec 8.

*School will be dismissed at 11:10 on Weds, Dec 8 for teacher training.

*Seniors--please turn in your pictures for the Senior video to Alex Wiseman, Bryce Terwelp, or Brittany Speckhart by Friday, December 10.  If you have not turned in your pictures or talked to one of these class members we cannot guarantee you will be included in the Senior video.

 

 

*Students needing to make a schedule change for next semester should try to do so before Christmas break. 

*Seniors—Turn in your Churchill Photography form and your Proofs to Mrs. Germann ASAP.

*Seniors—There is 1 group picture left available for purchase.  The cost is $10.  See Mrs. Germann.

*There are extra Pep Club shirts & sweatshirts with the "One Town, One Team, One Dream" saying.  Please see Kendra if you're interested.

*The Junior High (7/8) grade and the 5th/6th grade volleyball teams are selling t-shirts.  They are blue with a tie-dye design and will say Payson Volleyball.  If you would like to order, please let Ms. Brokaw know a size.  They are $12.00.

*Lifting will be Monday, Wednesday & Friday.

*The Accounting class will be serving breakfast for you every Tuesday and Friday morning in your lobby.  They serve a variety of all your favorite breakfast foods.  It's always at a great low price for a great value.  It's one stop at the Breakfast Barrio for the only breakfast served in school.

*Homework Haven is at the Jr/Sr High from 3:05-4:05 Monday-Thursday in Mrs. Gilligan's room.
