CALL TO ORDER
Denise Albsmeyer called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.

ROLL CALL
Nancy Cromie, district secretary, called roll with the following members present:  Denise Albsmeyer, Russ Board, Danelle Donley, Trista Neisen and Lisa Schwartz (by phone).  Keith Barry and Cory Hagerbaumer were absent.

Also present were Donna Veile, Barb Speckhart and Nancy Cromie.

VISITORS
Diane Germann, Alexandra Newcombe, Robyn Zanger, Tahnee Bauer

PUBLIC
Alexandra Newcombe and Robyn Zanger presented the board with the senior class trip itinerary and cost.

AD REPORT
Don Miller submitted a report on the status of current sports.  All-conference for volleyball was announced.  Hannah Bingaman was on the First team and Maggie Stanford was on Honorable Mention.

TECHNOLOGY REPORT
Barb Speckhart talked about the sound system acoustic panels, shared that an interactive board has been installed in the weight room and more security cameras have been added throughout the district.  She attended and was a presenter at the IETC conference.  She also attended a meeting for the DOT Foods STEM grant.

Neisen made a motion to approve the consent agenda.  Donley seconded the motion.

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT
Donna Veile talked about the ROE mini compliance visit and the insurance inspection.  A maintenance grant for repairs to the GS boys’ bathroom was presented.  She also reminded members that the December meeting would be on Wednesday, December 20.  Policy and Curriculum Committee meetings will be set up.

SENIOR TRIP
Donley made a motion to approve the senior trip.  Albsmeyer seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Board, Donley, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

RISK MANAGEMENT PLAN
Albsmeyer made a motion to approve the Risk Management Plan for 2024-25.  Schwartz seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Board, Donley, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

ESTIMATED 2023 TAX LEVY
Albsmeyer made a motion to approve the estimated 2023 tax levy and set a hearing for December 20, 2023.  Schwartz seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Board, Donley, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

CLOSED SESSION AUDIO RECORDINGS
Neisen made a motion to destroy all closed session audio recordings older than 18 months.  Donley seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Board, Donley, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

MAINTENANCE GRANT
Albsmeyer made a motion to approve the maintenance grant for GS boys’ bathroom repairs.  Neisen seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Board, Donley, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL REPORT
Julie Phelan submitted a report on various activities at the elementary.  Parent/Teacher conferences had 98% attendance.  Read Night and the Veterans Day program were well attended.  The ACHD will be providing prevention education for vaping/smoking for the 5th graders.  The D.A.R.E program has finished for the year.  The PTO fundraiser made $3931.00.

SECONDARY PRINCIPAL REPORT
Greg Buescher submitted a report on current events.  Parent/Teacher conferences had 31% attendance, which is up from last year.  JH science classes conducted experiments with dry ice.  The Sadie Hawkins Dance was held on October 18 and FFA attended the National Convention at the beginning of November.  The Juniors won the Class of the Quarter for first quarter and earned a trip to Tangerine Bowl. A slide show of student activities was presented.

MOVE TO CLOSED SESSION
Neisen made a motion to move into closed session for the purpose of discussing the employment of personnel, student matters, and other items appropriate for closed session.  Donley seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Board, Donley, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

Entered into closed session at 7:51 p.m.

RETURN TO OPEN SESSION
Donley made a motion to return to open session.  Albsmeyer seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Board, Donley, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

Returned to open session at 8:10 p.m.

PERSONNEL ADDENDUM
Neisen made a motion to approve the personnel addendum.  Donley seconded the motion. AYE:  Albsmeyer, Board, Donley, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

ADDITIONAL ITEMS
There was discussion on a proposed Adams County facility use tax.
