A scrip order will be placed at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, November 22. This is a good opportunity to support technology advancements and get cards to use for Black Friday shopping. The order is guaranteed to be here by Wednesday, November 27. Forms can be found on our website or you can get one in the office.
Congratulations to Kira Eidson on winning the National FFA Creed Speaking Contest at the National FFA Convention held in Louisville, KY October 30 - November 2. She secured the win with outstanding stage presence and perfect recitation of the FFA creed. Additionally she had to demonstrate knowledge of how to implement the creed by answering three questions from the judges.
A reception in Eidson's honor will be held on Monday, November 4th from 7 to 8 pm in the high school ag room. Everyone is welcome.
On Saturday, November 23 at 5:00 pm the HS cheerleaders will be serving sloppy joes, hotdogs and chips before the annual blue/white scrimmage game which starts at 6:00 p.m. Following this there will be an alumni game. If you are an alumni and interested in playing, please contact Katie Isaacks at 656-3355.
PTO is hosting a fall event at the elementary building on October 26 from 4-7 pm. There will be food, games, prizes, costume contest, hayride and Trunk or Treat. Come join the fun!
“An Evening with Allen Hunter” will be on Sunday, November 24, in the Elementary Multipurpose Room 3:00 -7:00 p.m. Music will be provided by Ben Bumbry and the Messengers. High school band room tours are available from 3:00-4:00 p.m. A scholarship is being created to honor Mr. Hunter for his many years of dedication to music performance and education. This event will provide participants with an opportunity to share wonderful memories with Mr. Hunter, become reacquainted with past classmates, and support this scholarship. Fundraising efforts for the scholarship include: 1) Food and beverages will be available for purchase that evening. 2) Tax deductible donations will be accepted at the door or by mail. (Checks payable to: Seymour Foundation’s Allen Hunter Music Scholarship Fund. The address is 406 W State, Payson, IL 62360.) 3) Select CDs of Payson Seymour Concert Band performances may be purchased. If you have any questions, please contact Cindy Mena at 656-3439.
Parent/Teacher conferences will be held October 23 from 4-7 pm, October 24 from 12-7 pm, and October 25 from 8 am-1 pm. Please make sure you schedule a time to meet with your child's teacher.
PTO will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Payson Fishes and Loaves Pantry. Please send any donations to the grade school.
Come out and support our district on Monday, October 14, at Texas Roadhouse. A portion of the proceeds from meals served from 4:00-10:00 p.m. will go towards technology needs. Please stop by the office if you need an extra flyer or you can download a flyer here.
